Rio Watermelon

I covered the 2016 Olympics in Rio, advising NBC on its digital strategy and overseeing programming for NBC’s official Snapchat Olympics channel.

Over the two weeks of the Olympics, our channel had 35 million viewers and racked up 2.2 billion content views.

NBC’s goal was to bring a new generation of viewers to the Olympics viewing tradition. They gave me and my team of 12 lots of room to experiment in translating the Games into high-potential Snapchat content.

We showed athletes in new ways, including wrestler Adeline Gray ripping apart a watermelon with her bare hands.
